Analysis of Essential and Toxic Elements in Jujube Fruits Collected from Different Locations in China

Yan and colleagues measured elements in four dried jujube fruits. Table 4 unit is μg/g. This note writes µg/g for those numerals. Cadmium was ND at all four locations. ND is not a measured zero. Recovery on the Xinjiang Hetian sample is printed in the method table (aluminum 104.0%, lead 92.0%).

Key numbers

Table 4, µg/g.

OriginAluminumLeadCadmium
Xinjiang Hetian32.0 ± 1.33.1 ± 0.2ND
Hebei4.8 ± 0.23.0 ± 0.2ND
Xinzheng50.6 ± 2.44.2 ± 0.5ND
Huixian15.9 ± 0.63.6 ± 0.3ND

The discussion prints lead from 3.0 to 4.2 µg/g, which matches the table. Origins are not pooled.

Methods (brief)

Dried fruit was digested and measured by ICP. The method reports n = 6 for the precision check.

Evidence fitness

The four rows support a dried-jujube note for aluminum and lead. Cadmium ND is not a concentration.

Limitations

Dried fruit, not fresh. Four locations only. Cadmium is not detected.
