Connecticut Public Act No. 10-113 bans cadmium above 0.0075 percent by weight in children’s jewelry. The Act defines children’s jewelry as jewelry and components designed or intended to be worn or used by children twelve years of age or younger. The prohibition applies on and after 1 July 2014. Enforcement authority is assigned to the Commissioner of Consumer Protection within available appropriations.
