Determination of Heavy Metals Concentration in Wine Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)

Bora and colleagues measured metals in micro-vinification wines stored at 5 C and 25 C. Red cultivars are excluded. Recovery was 84.6% to 99.8%. Cadmium limit of detection is 0.0202 µg/L and lead is 0.0003 µg/L.

Key numbers

The results text names Feteasca Alba cadmium as 0.09 ± 0.01 μg/L. The same sentence also names Merlot at 0.09 ± 0.01 μg/L. Merlot is red and is not used as a white value. A later table block repeats a copper, iron, and manganese header while its first-column figures include 0.09 ± 0.01 on a Feteasca Alba 2015 semi-dry row and 12.50 ± 1.50 in the third column of that row. Because the header and the prose do not agree, this note does not assign the storage-temperature grid. Data gap: white lead by storage temperature is not copied from that mislabeled block. Cells printed UDL are under the limit of detection and are not zeros.

Methods (brief)

0.2 mL wine was microwave digested and measured by ICP-MS. Each cell is a mean of n = 3.

Evidence fitness

The named Feteasca Alba cadmium figure supports a white-cultivar cadmium note. The storage grid is not used.

Limitations

The text-layer header of the cadmium block is not reliable. Red rows are excluded. Arsenic, mercury, nickel, aluminum, chromium, and tin were not measured.
