This compiled version of Australia’s Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 states import restrictions for several consumer goods containing heavy metals. Schedule 2 includes mg/kg thresholds for coated toys, cosmetics containing lead or lead compounds, money boxes, pencils and paint brushes, and food-like erasers. Schedule 7 also contains tableware release provisions for lead and cadmium, but those are not converted here because they are migration-volume units rather than product mass fractions. The compilation shows the law as amended and in force on 13 July 2026.
