Overview
FDA’s 2022 draft guidance would set lead action levels of 10 ppb for single-strength apple juice and 20 ppb for other single-strength juices and juice blends. Because the document remains draft and not for implementation, HMI does not treat these values as current FDA action levels or regulatory caps.
| Juice scope | Draft lead action level | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Single-strength apple juice | 10 ppb | Draft; not for implementation |
| Other single-strength juices and juice blends | 20 ppb | Draft; not for implementation |
For current FDA juice lead context, see FDA Juice HACCP — 50 ppb Lead Guidance Context for Juice.
