This source is the April 1, 2024 CFR edition of FDA’s bottled-water standard of identity and quality regulation at 21 CFR 165.110. Paragraph (b)(4) sets allowable chemical-quality levels for inorganic substances in bottled water, and paragraph (b)(5) sets radiological quality requirements including uranium. Arsenic, chromium, and mercury are stated without CSV-controlled speciation splits and are recorded as tAs, Cr-total, and tHg under the bulk-ingest rule. Uranium is documented on the regulation page but gap-logged rather than loaded because U is outside the current regulatory_limits.csv metal-species vocabulary.

Update history

The five most recent substantive edits to this page, classified major (evidence or structure moved), correction (a published value or statement was wrong and has been fixed), or minor (narrative rewritten without changing the underlying evidence). Each description is derived from what the edit did to this page; the linked commit is the authoritative record, routine regeneration passes are excluded, and the full version history lives in git. When DOI minting comes online (see schema docs), each entry below will also link to a version-pinned DataCite DOI.
