This source is the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago consolidation of the Food and Drugs Act, Chapter 30:01, including the Food and Drugs Regulations and the Fish and Fishery Products Regulations. The PDF is marked “Updated to December 31st 2007.”
HMI records four routeable metal-limit surfaces from the source. Food and Drugs Regulations Division 2 limits arsenic and lead in colours for use in or upon food. Division 6 lists arsenic and lead levels for named foods and a residual “food not named” category under poisonous-substances provisions. Division 19 sets naturally occurring contaminant limits in food-grade salt for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. Fish and Fishery Products Regulations regulation 62(18) and Second Schedule Table 1 set accepted levels for lead and methylmercury in fish and fishery products.
Values are recorded in data/evidence/regulatory_limits.csv in ug/kg, converted from source parts per million or ppm values by multiplying by 1000. The source’s arsenic rows are recorded as total arsenic (tAs) because the law does not specify inorganic arsenic. The salt mercury row is recorded as total mercury (tHg). The fish schedule explicitly says methyl mercury, so those rows are recorded as MeHg.
