The 2015 Cosmetic Safety Technical Standards are China’s national technical requirements for cosmetics. Table 2 sets numeric harmful-substance limits for mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium in cosmetic products, expressed in mg/kg. The source also lists prohibited substances and restricted ingredients, but only the Table 2 metal impurity values are transcribed into the structured register. Arsenic and mercury are mapped as total arsenic and total mercury because the table does not specify inorganic arsenic or methylmercury.
