Heavy Metal Index

The Quantification of Heavy Metals in Infant Formulas Offered by the Florida WIC Program

This is a thesis. Table 5 prints arsenic, cadmium, and lead in mg/L in a digest table and names commercial formulas. Those digest concentrations are not formula concentrations in the food. They are not copied onto the cow’s-milk infant formula page. The milk-based label in the thesis does not by itself convert a digest result into a food result.

Key numbers

Data gap for food concentration: no formula mg/kg or µg/kg figure is copied from the digest table.

Methods (brief)

ICP-MS of Florida WIC infant formulas. The numeric table used in the text layer is a digest table.

Evidence fitness

The thesis shows that milk-based formulas were in a Florida WIC panel. It does not support a food concentration on this page.

Limitations

Thesis. Digest units are not food units. Commercial names are not repeated.
