GSO 193:2021 is the Gulf Technical Regulation for contaminants and toxins in food and feed, approved by the GSO Ministerial Committee for the GCC member-state standardization bodies. The standard replaces several older GSO contaminant rules and gives maximum levels for multiple metals in food commodities, natural mineral waters, infant and young-child foods, fishery products, food-grade salt, food supplements, and canned products. The HMI ingest captures the routeable heavy-metal rows for arsenic, cadmium, lead, total mercury, methylmercury, and tin. Arsenic rows preserve the standard’s speciation: total arsenic where the table does not state otherwise and inorganic arsenic for rice rows and fish oils. The raw standard is a licensed GSO document, so the raw file is preserved locally for provenance but is not redistributed.
