Bora and colleagues measured elements and lead and strontium isotopes in wines from Dealu Bujorului, Romania. The Table 1 numeric grid is not in the text layer. Only white-cultivar figures printed in the results prose are copied. All-wine means are not assigned to white wine. Global recovery was 84.6% to 100.9%.
Key numbers
The abstract labels 52.29 ± 1.00 µg/L as cadmium for Feteasca Regala 2012. The results sentence labels the same figure as lead. Both labels are printed. This note does not choose one.
Other white figures in the results prose, µg/L: Muscat Ottonel cadmium 0.12 ± 0.01 (2011); Feteasca Alba cadmium 0.12 ± 0.01 (2012); Feteasca Alba lead 52.07 ± 0.50 (2012); Muscat Ottonel total mercury 0.58 ± 0.04 (2014); Feteasca regala mercury below 0.13 µg/L; authors’ white-wine mercury average 0.18 µg/L; Feteasca Alba total arsenic 6.42 ± 0.87 (2015) and 6.20 ± 0.23 (2014); authors’ white-wine arsenic 9.25 µg/L; Feteasca regala nickel 239.81 ± 1.34 (2016); Muscat Ottonel total chromium 923.62 ± 2.05 (2014). Arsenic, mercury, and chromium are totals, not inorganic arsenic, methylmercury, or hexavalent chromium.
Methods (brief)
0.5 mL wine was microwave digested and measured by ICP-MS. Blanks and triplicates (n = 3) were run.
Evidence fitness
The white prose figures support a white-wine note if the cadmium and lead label conflict is kept. They do not support the all-wine means as white wine.
Limitations
The full Table 1 grid was not recoverable as text. Year labels in the experimental section and the results prose do not fully match.
