Twenty-two protein powders bought for the Hungarian market were measured by ICP-MS. Sample 1 is micellar casein. The basis is dry powder as sold. Table 3 prints aluminum for sample 1 as ND. Beryllium, chromium, cobalt, nickel, arsenic, cadmium, antimony, cesium, mercury, and lead remained under the detection limit for all powders examined. That sentence is survey-wide, not a casein-specific numeral. No numeric target-metal concentration is printed for the casein sample.
Key numbers
Data gap: the casein sample has no numeric concentration for lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, nickel, chromium, or aluminum. Aluminum is ND. The other target metals are under the detection limit across the whole survey.
Methods (brief)
ICP-MS of dry powder. Three aliquots. Calibration is described. No certified reference material recovery is printed.
Evidence fitness
The paper shows that this casein powder was tested. It does not support a numeric casein contamination figure.
Limitations
ND and a survey-wide under-detection statement are not concentrations.
