Twenty nickel-allergic adults were patch tested and 17 completed a repeated open application test comparing small and large areas at the same nickel dose per area and at the same total nickel dose. The text prints both ug and mg for the same numerals. Figure 1 and Figure 2 print ug Ni/cm2. Table headers print mgNi/cm2, and the footnote says the mg refers to Ni. Values are copied as printed, with both unit strings kept.

This source can support: applied nickel doses that elicited reactions in this allergic cohort; area and total-dose comparisons at those doses.
It cannot support: nickel concentration in consumer articles; a safe exposure limit for the general population; induction thresholds.
Limitations
Elicitation in already allergic adults, not induction and not nickel content of products. Unit glyph is inconsistent between figure (ug) and table (mg). Volumes in the methods are printed as ml (17.7 ml and 40 ml) while the ROAT figure prints 40 ul and 90 ul. Syringe check means were 0.0400 ml and 0.0901 ml.
