Commission Regulation (EU) No 494/2011 amends REACH Annex XVII entry 23 for cadmium. It updates cadmium restrictions for synthetic organic polymers, paints and painted articles, recovered PVC, brazing fillers, and metal jewellery components. The limits are expressed as percent by weight and as cadmium metal. The instrument applies from 10 January 2012, with listed derogations and exemptions for older articles and specified safety uses.
