Overview
Azizuddin and colleagues compared three chilli cultivars grown on one farm for nutritional traits, antioxidant activity and six metals measured by flame AAS. Table 4 gives one mean ± SD per cultivar.
Key numbers
- Lead: 0.550 ± 0.0380 ppm (Dandi), 0.521 ± 0.0310 ppm (Ghotki), 0.408 ± 0.0121 ppm (German) (Table 4).
- Cadmium: 0.035 ± 0.0019 ppm (Dandi), 0.015 ± 0.0010 ppm (Ghotki), 0.013 ± 0.0010 ppm (German) (Table 4).
- Nickel: BDL in all three cultivars (Table 4).
Methods (brief)
Fruit was oven-dried at 150 C, digested with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide on a hot plate and analysed by flame AAS in triplicate. No reference material, recovery or detection limit is reported.
Evidence Fitness
Three cultivars from a single farm, triplicate readings, no QA materials. Red hot chilli is a proxy for green-bell-pepper, not the same food, so that page is not linked.
