Cesium tungsten oxide-carbon nanotube-hydroxypropyl cellulose thermoresponsive display

The authors used cesium tungsten oxide as a near-infrared absorber that heats a hydroxypropyl cellulose hydrogel locally, switching it between clear and opaque to form a display. Carbon nanotubes were added to speed heating and cooling. Tungsten is a component of a device, not a measured exposure.

Key numbers

This paper reports no numerical findings relevant to tungsten exposure.

Methods (brief)

Composite hydrogels were prepared and their photothermal response under near-infrared laser irradiation and their optical switching times were measured.

Evidence fitness

Off-topic for dietary exposure: a display materials paper that does not support dietary exposure or toxicity claims for tungsten.

Limitations

No release, migration or biological measurements of tungsten.
