Scope
The 2015 amendment updates India’s Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, Toxins and Residues) Regulations, 2011. It applies to the metal-contaminants table in regulation 2.1.1 and adds gelatin under the chromium row.

The draft amendment was published on 5 June 2015. The final amendment was notified in New Delhi on 4 November 2015, published in the Gazette of India dated 12 November 2015, and entered into force on the date of Gazette publication.
How it compares
The row is a narrow gelatin-specific chromium ceiling. Because the amendment states chromium without hexavalent speciation, comparisons should use total-chromium rows rather than Cr(VI)-specific drinking-water or product standards.
